Kiama and the return of the Gazelle

Well over the last couple of weeks Jane and I have been out and about seeing more of Sydney. We headed down to the south coast to Kiama for the weekend. Kiama is home to a big blow hole, big waves and that's it.

We managed to get drenched when we miss timed a wave coming up through the hole and spend the rest of the afternoon saturated.

The next weekend saw the return of the Galloping Gazelle. Big Al came over to see Gordon F@#$ing Ramsay at the Good Food and Wine Festival and the mighty Aussies face off against China in the fitba.

As far as food and wine festivals go this was pretty awesome. We spent a few hours there and left with more than our share of wines in our belly... oh and duck, rum & vanilla Kaluha mmmm....

The fitba was very disappointing. Although the game was a dead rubber with Australia already through to the next round they were playing a few of the younger lads and we hoped they would have stood up... unfortunately not. Lost 1-0 but still we progress and China don't 'ha-ha'

This weekend (as I type this) Jane is having farewell drinks and Singstar with her work friends and tomorrow is Australia V France in the Rugby union. Only 4 days till we head overseas and we can't wait. Get on it!!

June long weekend

This weekend we had my mum, Aunt Jean and cousin Sharon over from Adelaide. They were here to see a couple of shows and they were treated to a third late on Saturday night.

After meeting them at the station to drop off my house keys I gave them idiot-proof instructions on how to get back to my place.... well so I thought. Had I known that all three were away from school the day they taught counting I would have taken them home instead of going back to work.

But it turned out for the best, after getting off at the wrong train station they did come across a nice cafe for lunch. Saturday was breakfast at Astino's in Newtown and for dinner we went to Tamanas for some indian food and dancing. Not to be outdone by the professional dancer, Jane and myself got up there to show her a few moves of our own.

From there is was back to the unit for some drinks and singstar. Apologies to all my neighbours for what must have sounded like a bunch of cats being skinned. A good night enjoyed by all.

Sunday Jane and I headed out to breakfast while the other three went tom Myers (apparently the one in Adelaide mustn't be as good?? The fog was thick and for a little while there I was thinking that they may have been stuck in Sydney of another day or so by lucky for them it cleared up.

We also managed to finish booking the rest of our overseas trip. Looks a little different that we thought but we'll have a blast no matter where we go.

Manly Food & Wine Festival

After the big weekend last week and after one of the busiest working weeks I have had in a loooong time, Jane and I decided to keep a low profile.

We headed to Manly on Sunday for the Food & Wine Festival where we spent the afternoon drinking wine & eating Paella.

Unfortunately nothing to exciting to report this weekend. Headed back home and watched Australia sneak past Iraq in the world cup qualifier... that's 3 games down!! C'mon Harry!
